Vanalden Park

Vanalden Park is a green space in Northridge featuring a large parking lot and wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking. It is a tranquil and secluded spot, suitable for families and dogs. The park offers picnic tables and is good for kids, although some amenities like bathrooms and water fountains may not always be accessible. The area has some maintenance challenges and nearby homeless camps, but it remains a peaceful getaway in the city.

We came to the park to play soccer as a family and unfortunately the bathrooms and water fountains were inaccessible. Which sucked because it was 8 of us and we all had to use the bathroom. We walked around the main building for about 10 minutes to see if any doors were open but non were.

Embarrassing for LA to have a park that is this poorly kept. Only green space in couple mile radius and it’s very unpleasant.

This park is by far the best park I have ever been to,because ,so ya see,im one of the homeless people who has been staying in my motorhome for around a year now. The people at the senior center are warm, caring ,and very understanding and they are very compassionate. And the people in the trailer park across the street are very nice as well. As for the park, don’t listen to the few reviews some people left about the homeless ,and not safe for kids,it’s judgemental and Jesus wouldn’t like it. Vanalden Park is a safe, wonderful, awesome park with great meetings. Thank you Vanalden Park

Definitely secluded so it’s a nice place to get away from the noise of the city. However, it wasn’t very well kept and had some graffiti and there’s a homeless camp right over the fence. In fact, I saw someone in the camp practicing throwing a large knife in to a tree for about an hour; not exactly comforting.

it’s just a big green patch, nothing more nothing less. i wish there were picnic benches. they have a big parking lot that’s saved me many times when i have to get away from my roommates and need peace and quiet.
