Oxford Dog Park is a welcoming spot for pet owners looking for a pet-friendly place in North Oxford, MA, to let their dogs enjoy some outdoor fun. Conveniently located at 668 Main St, this dog park features separate areas for small and large dogs, making it a safe and enjoyable environment for pups of all sizes. Local dog owners appreciate the park’s spaciousness, the paved walkways, gravel areas for energetic play, and accessible design for wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
Though shade is limited with sunny areas prevailing, there are benches available (though not in shaded areas) for owners to relax while their dogs play. On-site amenities include water fountains for pets, but be aware that the water streams may be a bit strong for some pups. The park operates as a safe, clean, and community-oriented space, but visitors are encouraged to help maintain its cleanliness by picking up after their pets. As a beloved dog park in North Oxford, Massachusetts, Oxford Dog Park is a go-to destination for dogs to safely run, socialize, and have off-leash fun all year round.
The gate into small dog area was broken. Majority of the area is sunny. They do have benches but not in the shade. The water for dogs squirt too far. My dog couldn’t manage to drink from it. I took a friend’s dog and they hated the gravel. Most of area was gravel. I am gladmy closest park is lake park in Worcester. They could use more trees but they have grassand half pretty shade so in winter we walk sunny side and summer shaded. Only thing we don’t like is dogs must be on leash so I keep getting tangled.
The following is a comment on the people at the Oxford dog park the day i was there, not the park itself: Dog owners must control their own pets so that any dog can enjoy the space. My dog couldn’t even explore the area before two other dogs were trying to mount her. With the owners right there gossiping I said that they all need to control theirs. One only replied “Dogs will be dogs”. We left disappointed and aggravated. This amounts to bullying and should not be tolerated.
The park looked great. Seperate areas for smaller and bigger dogs with plenty of space. The only knock was the dog that was left there by their owner(s), made it difficult to enjoy the park with the abadoned dog.
It was a snow day so we had the park all to ourselves! The dogs loved running free in the park.
Currently our go to stop early weekend mornings. My dogs love to run around the paved walk way and tear around the rocks. Most owners are respectful. Def one of the safe parks I have seen. Thank you for providing a safe clean area for our pets!
Update to my review
My new job hasn’t allowed me to be able to be here as frequently. This is the first time we came by in a few weeks.
The park is FULL of dog waste. This is a community park that used to be beautiful. If you’re not cleaning up after your animal, you’re a wretched person.
