Calvert Regional Park is a popular destination for families and pet owners looking for a dog-friendly park in North East, Maryland. The park features beautiful grass fields, paved walking trails, and ample parking, making it a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts exploring pet-friendly trails in the upper Chesapeake area. Visitors praise its clean atmosphere, sprawling fields, and accessible paved paths that are perfect for dog walking or jogging with your four-legged friend.
In addition to accommodating dogs, the park also boasts multiple playgrounds, basketball and pickleball courts, picnic benches, and shaded areas perfect for a family day out. While dogs are welcome on-leash throughout the park, be mindful that the park can get very busy during kids’ sporting events, especially on weekends, and that bee activity may increase in the fall months. Whether you’re seeking dog-friendly hiking, a scenic stroll, or a spot for your pup to socialize, Calvert Regional Park is one of the top choices in Cecil County, MD.

We really love this park 3/4 of the year! We went there many times over the summer and last spring and had a blast. The walking path is great, and so is the playground and sports fields/courts. There is also plenty of parking and a few porta potties which are better than nothing. Unfortunately in the Fall it is swarming with bees and yellow jackets. We met up there with a large group of families yesterday and had to leave early because 7 people got stung, and some were stung multiple times. I remember that there were a lot of bees when we went last fall also, so I think it is a seasonal issue. Therefore we will just go play elsewhere for the next month or two until the weather changes, and then return in the winter.
