North Hudson County Park - Dog Park

North Hudson County Park Dog Park is a spacious and well-maintained facility featuring separate fenced-in areas for both large and small dogs. The park offers an artificial turf surface that is gentle on dogs’ feet and equipped with amenities such as benches, poop bags, water spout (seasonal), and large disposal bins. It’s located conveniently near sports and picnic areas, making it a popular spot with a friendly community of dog owners. Accessibility is also a highlight with wheelchair accessible entrances and parking. While generally safe and welcoming, some visitors note the presence of aggressive dogs and suggest monitoring for safety.
Reviews
There’s a lot to like about this dog park:
-Large fenced-in play area for dogs with separated section for large and small dogs. In fact, compared to most local dog parks this one is HUGE.
-Artificial turf surface is much nicer on dogs’ feet than the gravel or dirt most local dog parks feature
-Poop bags available for use frequently restocked
-Large disposal bins
-A spout for fresh water (turned off in the winter)
-Several benches for human friends to sit on
The artificial turf occasionally makes it hard to scoop up all your dog’s poop so be careful about residual dog feces (watch your step).
There’s anywhere between 3 and 20 dogs here throughout the day and the community of dog owners is made up of attentive and friendly people.
It’s fine. I live a block away so it’s nice to have. I definitely would not bring my dog here if I had to drive here.
The morning crew is pretty chill. Lunchtime and afternoon have all kinds of weirdos and their dogs.
Evenings is hit or miss.
The main issue here is that there are people who have very aggressive dogs, and still come here with those dogs. If my dog was aggressive, I would not bring it to the park until I have fixed those issues but it’s weird because they take pride in the fact that their dog is aggressive . I would totally pay a fee that would cover the cost of having a park employee monitor what is going on and making sure that people with poorly trained and/or aggressive dogs aren’t allowed to come in.
This dog park is well-placed between a football field and huge picnic area with a volleyball court and a basketball court. I like that it has a big dog section and a small dog section.
Beautiful little park! Owners do a great job of watching their dogs and picking up after them. Plenty of room for both large and small dogs with separated sections for each. Benches to sit on, poop bags in case you forget and water on site for the dogs.
Best big dog park around, there are other local options in towns nearby but this is a draw from a bigger area. Almost ALWAYS someone here even in rain or snow so you can likely have some company.
