North Adams Dog Park in North Adams, Massachusetts

North Adams Dog Park, located on River St in North Adams, MA, is a pet-friendly space designed for the local canine community. While smaller than many expect, this park offers double-gated entries and distinct areas for small and large dogs, making it a safe spot for socializing pets. The park is generally not crowded, which can be beneficial for dogs that require a calmer environment or gentle introductions to other dogs through the fence.

Although the park provides waste bags and trash cans to help keep the area clean, visitors should note there are no water fountains or bowls truly dedicated within the fenced area—though a hose is available on the far side of the park for water bowl refills. The park features a grassy section suitable for some exercise, and families will appreciate that it is kid-friendly. However, shade, seating options, and posted rules are limited, so come prepared for sun and bring any essentials your dog may need. If you’re looking for a convenient place to let your pet off-leash in North Adams, this park meets the basic needs in a secure, double-gated setting.

Lamest dog park I’ve ever been to.
So tiny.
No bowl or poop bags….

No water or bowls for the doggos. No poop bags for clean up. Tiny strip of grass. Really no room for the doggos to run. Come on, North Adams! Could you expand your fence just a little towards the huge grassy field you have right next to it?

There are two areas nominally for small and large dogs. Both are double-gated. They also could be used for strange dogs to meet through the fence. If your dog needs to be socialized, it’s possible to walk parallel in a large area adjacent and external to the dog park. Waste collection bags are provided. It’s usually not crowded.

Best place for my dog Phoenix he’s met so many people and dogs, and he’s really friendly, and the water hose is down on the other side of the park so he can have water bowl refills and he gets tired from all the playing

Given the large size of other parks out that way, this park was a disappointment. It is very small, and it looks like the town just dropped a little fencing around the corner of an existing park, with a walking path that goes through the park sections and one of the light ones poles in the center of the park space.
No water, although there were bags and trash. Separate sections for large and small dogs, I guess – but no rules were posted anywhere visible.
