This small tract of land mostly runs along the Tunkhannock Creek, just outside of Lackawanna State Park. It loses 1 star for ease of access, or lack thereof. There are 2 points of access. The first is a small lot on Grist Mill Rd where you have to walk 1/2 to 3/4 mile up the road past private property. There are no signs telling you where to go, or where the preserve begins/ends. Just follow Grist Mill until you reach the creek. The second access is a State Park lot off of Rt 438 & Cole Rd, park and then walk over the bridge and locate the South Branch Trail to your left and follow that through the corn field and into the woods about a mile. The trail and boundries are not well marked and you have to cross private property, so be mindful.
Once in the preserve, there are some nice spots along the creek and a lot of wildlife opportunities.
