🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]

Located in the heart of Norfolk, Virginia, Ocean View Dog Park offers a welcoming space for both locals and visitors looking for a dog-friendly spot to let their pups socialize and play. The park features a spacious grassy area where dogs can romp off-leash, multiple benches and picnic tables for owners to relax, and an entryway fence to help with pet introductions. It’s a popular community destination for those who don’t have their own backyard, and the friendly atmosphere keeps dog owners coming back again and again.
Among the highlights are the water hose, plastic kiddie pool for cooling off, and playground for children located right nearby—a real bonus for families. While there’s plenty of room for energetic play, the grass can sometimes be overgrown, and after heavy rain, areas may get muddy. Overall, whether you’re a resident or visiting the Norfolk area, Ocean View Dog Park is an accessible and social spot for you and your four-legged friend.
No Water! NO WATER!! Grass is overgrown!!! Whoever caters to this park needs to clean it up and get clean running water to it. It’s 90 degrees in the dead of summer and NO WATER!

Nasty. But it seems like a great place for the big rambunctious dogs. Not a lot of grass. The city could provide better

The community here is super friendly just wish there was more grass and less dirt. Especially after rain, it’s super muddy. Additionally there is a playground right next to it for kids but that part isn’t fenced in so I would still keep a close watch on your little ones.

First time we have ever taken max ( our 1 yr old golden retrevier) to a dog park . We just visited while on vacation this past weekend and I’m so glad we did! Very clean area with a water hose , plastic swimming pool , a couple picnic tables to sit at and a large grass area for dogs to run! We enjoyed it so much that we went back again before heading out of town back home!
