If you’re looking for a spacious and welcoming dog park in Nokesville, Virginia, Nokesville Park offers a blend of natural beauty and family-friendly amenities. This pet-friendly park features open fields perfect for on-leash walks, hiking trails through wooded areas, and plenty of space for picnics or group gatherings. Horse enthusiasts will also appreciate the well-maintained arena and riding trails. Enjoy tranquil nature, wildlife, and a peaceful environment away from the bustle of the city—just remember to come prepared, as the wooded location means ticks can be present, and cell service is limited in some spots.
Nokesville Park is wheelchair accessible and provides convenient parking, making it easy for families and groups to visit. You’ll find a large covered pavilion for shade or rain protection, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and public restrooms. Kids will love the playground, slides, swings, and kid-friendly hikes, while dog owners can explore pet-friendly trails. Whether you’re planning a day hike, a group barbecue, or an afternoon playing fetch, this park has something for everyone—including your four-legged companion.

Huge park area — good for large group gatherings on days when it’s too hot outside. This is not a fancy, city park. You are out in the woods away from some place to get some food or water so plan accordingly if you’re going to be there for a day with kids or pets. The park itself has horrible signs as to where to park, where the trails are and/or even where the one public restroom building is. There is one large pavilion area for a picnic or group. It has cover in the event of a storm and/or to get out of the sun. Don’t assume you will have cell service out there depending on who your carrier is. Just as a safety warning – for teenagers and people visiting the park alone: it’s not a safe place to be at night without someone else who knows the park well and can get you back to the car ASAP. Lovely nature and peace and quiet available. Cover yourself up with Deet and other mosquito and tick repellents because this is a deeply wooded area and ticks are everywhere in Virginia.

My horse and I are thrilled to have access to trails and the arena for a change of scenery! The trails are well kept and create a pleasant ride out option for me and my horse! There is plenty of trailer parking, a CLEAN porta potty, and several, great areas to ride.

The Nokesville park, horse arena, and horse trails are well-maintained and great to visit. The area has jumps and barrels, and most importantly, enough space to easy park a 2-horse bumper pull and use them.
