Located at 81 Tyler Terrace, Newton, MA, Newton Centre Playground is a spacious and dog-friendly park offering open green fields, pet-friendly walking trails, and plenty of activities for both dogs and their families. This park features a unique open-field design spanning approximately 9 acres, providing ample space for off-leash fun, frisbee throwing, and socializing with other friendly dogs. While the park is only partially fenced – mostly along the street side – dog owners are encouraged to be extra cautious, as there are open areas that lead to busier roads.
Dog owners will appreciate amenities like high-quality poop bag dispensers, convenient trash bins, and nearby parking options that include metered and street parking. While the playgrounds and courts make it a favorite for families, the mature shady oaks and open fields cater to those searching for dog-friendly adventures in Newton. Please note that restrooms are either limited or only occasionally available, and there is no separate small dog area or agility equipment provided. Newton Centre Playground remains a well-maintained space for year-round outdoor fun, making it a top pick for pet owners seeking accessible dog parks in Massachusetts.
We had a great time here!
Nice park but no shade for the bigger playground. I would not recommend coming here on a hot day to the playground. The plastic gets really hot and there are no trees around to help.
This place is fun and far from the street with a lots of space for the kids to run around.
This park has it all . Two playgrounds , a basketball court, a baseball field , a tennis court , a big walking area for your dog . It has plenty of meter parking close. Or depending which way you enter street parking . The park is cleaned and well maintained. No public restroom’s. On the other side there is a school and an additional play ground .
🙏🏼
We loved how large this park is and how much stuff the kids had to go play on. I didn’t see picnic tables or bathrooms. Also, there is no view of water like it shows on Google. You have about a 10 minute walk or 3 minute drive to get to lake. There was live music though and that was really nice. There is also 2 basket ball courts and a tennis court. Handicapped parking is not very visible but is available
