🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Located just a short drive from the heart of Newport, Agate Beach Neighborhood and Dog Park is a convenient destination for dog owners seeking a secure and fun spot for their furry friends. This dog park offers a fully fenced area where dogs can play off-leash, giving your pet the chance to run and socialize safely. The park features benches for owners to relax and waste stations for easy cleanup, helping maintain a clean environment. There is a smaller, enclosed area that may be suitable for small or shy dogs, adding an extra layer of comfort for pet parents.
While there isn’t a dedicated water fountain for dogs, visitors have noted that water and bowls may sometimes be available. Restrooms are available near the park, though hours may be limited. The surrounding area includes patchy grass and occasional muddy spots after rain, so plan accordingly. There is also a playground conveniently nearby for families with kids, making Agate Beach Dog Park a versatile and pet-friendly spot in Newport.
Decent sized dog park, with benches, patchy grass, and doggie bags/trash can, but no water. Smaller fenced area for smaller dogs, or maybe let your dog run without interacting with the others.
Extremely nice fenced in dog area for off leash playing and running.
Also kept up well and very clean.
I really like the fact that there’s fresh water and bowls.
Great place to take your puppies/dogs.
My girl loved it.
It is extremely small. We have to bring our own water, but my dog had a lot of fun running around with other pups.
The bathrooms were locked it’s eight am though. So don’t stop here for a restroom. Good place for pets. The playground is kinda different to spice up your day for moms.
It’s muddy, too many dog owners who don’t clean up after their animals, so you have to be careful not to step in tje land mines. They shrunk the park by fencing a portion of it off, bummed about that, but maybe safer for small dogs. There really aren’t any great dog parks in newport. So we settle when we have to, otherwise we go to the valley to enjoy the bigger parks as we have 2 big dogs. There are restrooms nearby, but you have to hope they aren’t locked if you really gotta go. There is also a little playground nearby as well, but not in direct sight from the dog park, so unless you have older children that you trust, you gotta pick one or the other. And there is no picnic area. Most dogs are pretty friendly that we’ve come across. My dogs love to play, but can be a little aggressive for some people and their dogs.
