What a great (but omg strenuous!!!) trail! Park across the street at the information sign . There are a few rocky/slab areas that got slick with the cold weather (Eagles Nest-great view but icy!). Lake solitude was gorgeous. I felt this hike the next day but I’m glad I did it. It was beautiful!

Beautiful hike with a couple of scenic view points. We didn’t go all the way up so I can’t judge the complete trail. Starts off as a quick elevation gain but not difficult. Don’t forget to park at the trolley near the lake otherwise you will be backing up.

To hike this trail, you have to park by Sunapee Lake then cross a very busy street, take a brief trip through a neighborhood and then you’ll be at the trailhead. The hike is relatively gentle for NH, only a couple of sections where you clamber up rocky areas. Trail was super wet and mucky, recommend boots for it. Dog friendly trail, our pup did well on it. Hike to Lake Solitude and White Ledge for a great view of the lake from above.
