The park was great! We stayed across the street at Empire Hotel! Great food and drinks at the roof top bar! We had a wonderful time! They were doing summer in the city across the street and we walked by during the day and it looked fun!

Beautiful park in Chinatown, a social hub for the area. Two sets of restrooms. South side one could use some attention. Lots of benches and tables, a half size soccer field, basketball courts, nets for tennis or pickleball, and a large playground for children.

Columbus Park was a great place to soak up authentic local life in NYC’s Chinatown. Early mornings are peaceful, with tai chi groups, locals visiting with each other, games of mahjong and chess under the pavilion.

It’s full of energy and cute little green spaces with boulders tucked into the corners. People were relaxing and there was a group doing tai chi.

There are basketball courts, a playground, and a memorial statue.

I don’t know too much about the history but I hear it is fascinating too because this was once part of the old Five Points neighborhood with a strong sense of community.

I’ve heard that you can hear people playing traditional Chinese music but we didn’t get so lucky this time. There was a distracting tour group though.

If you want to experience the real day-to-day vibe of Chinatown, this is the place. Just grab a seat and enjoy.

Bonus: there are local food spots all around the park!

Came on Memorial Day. Few people performing playing Chinese instruments. Everyone and calling. So many people here hanging out. Flowers look nice. Very peaceful today. Bad place to get a tan. Lots of trees with shade.

I love Columbus especially the field qnd volleyball court. There is so much diversity age and ethnicity wise. Everyone gets along with each other and can connect and bond over similar interests like sports.
