Food was amazing – my date had a burger, and I had the smash burger. We went to see the Detroit Tigers play and they put the game on where we were sitting. The facility is warm and inviting with a handsome interior. The bartender could have been a little more engaging. Or a lot more! But overall, a nice place.
We visited STOUT NYC recently and had a somewhat mixed experience. First off, the beer selection is excellent. There’s a great variety of craft beers on tap, and everything we tried was well-poured, fresh, and enjoyable. If you’re a beer lover, this place definitely delivers.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match up to the drinks. While the menu looks promising, the dishes we ordered were rather bland and underwhelming. The flavors didn’t stand out, and some items felt like they had been rushed or pre-prepared. It’s a shame because with the right execution, the food could easily match the quality of the beer.
On the positive side, the atmosphere is nice — casual, lively, and with a good vibe. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience more pleasant even though the food was disappointing. The location is convenient, and it’s a solid place to grab a drink with friends.
Overall, STOUT NYC is great for a night out if your main focus is the beer. For food, though, it’s just average, and we probably wouldn’t recommend it solely as a dining destination. There’s potential here, but it doesn’t fully deliver on all fronts.
Stopped in on a Monday afternoon @4 for some well deserved celebratory drinks with my client after a very long road to closing.
Upon arrival the place was still a little slow and we opted to sit right at the bar. We both started with Watermelon Frosés as we collectively took a sigh of relief that we finally made it to the finish line. As we sat and chatted we were checked on by a couple of the bartenders who floated around the bar. Neither of us were particularly hungry so we decided on one more cocktail each for the road. My client went with an Espresso Martini for a little “pick me up” and I went with the Running Wild, a recommendation from one of the bartenders. A mix of Bacardi Rum, blackberry syrup, fresh lime juice, mint, splash of club, it reminded me more of a refresher than a cocktail.
As we were wrapping up Stout began to get pretty busy and loud. With 2 levels I’m sure they can get packed.
Service / Ambiance / Drinks were ok, not sure I will run back but when in the area for future closings I may pop back in.
Just A Note:
We didn’t see nor were we offered a Happy Hour menu, so not sure if they offer one. Four (4) cocktails with tax and tip (no food) , was just under NULL.
Updated Review 7/2025;
It seems they really opened up their cocktail options, while still remaining faithful to their beer forward roots! I didn’t try any food again, but the service was impeccable and my old fashioned was fantastic. Alba took great care of me while still running around, dealing with other patrons.

Original review:
It was just okay. I only came for a drink while waiting for my train, but the menu seems a little busy. My cocktail (old fashioned) wasn’t very good at all, especially since it cost NULL, but in their defense, this place is more beer focused. I’d suggest sticking to that or cider if you come.
I recently hosted a private event at Stout for 25 coworkers, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly attentive and made sure everything ran smoothly, from setting up our private space to helping us customize the menu to fit our group’s needs. The food was delicious and plentiful—everyone raved about the variety and quality, and we ended up with lots of leftovers. Stout was more than happy to provide boxes so we could take the extra food home, which was a thoughtful touch that everyone appreciated.
The atmosphere was perfect for a work gathering: lively, comfortable, and private enough for us to enjoy our own conversations without interruptions. The event space felt warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch throughout the evening. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel welcome and took care of every detail, allowing us to relax and enjoy the night.
I highly recommend Stout for any private event or group gathering. Their flexibility, excellent food, and outstanding service truly set them apart. We will definitely be back for future events!
