Parks Dog Run — Dog Park in New York, NY

Parks Dog Run is a small, urban dog park located beneath the FDR Drive in the Lower East Side, New York, NY. This dog park provides a unique spot for city dogs to play, socialize, and unwind. Its location offers year-round shade under the FDR, and it’s a convenient pet-friendly destination for local dog owners looking for a dog run in Manhattan.

The park features distinct zones for small dogs, with seating available for owners. There’s a water fountain available during the warmer months, as well as covered shelter thanks to its location under the overpass. While the park can be a lively, friendly gathering place for local pups and their owners, it is important to note that recent reviews mention issues with cleanliness and safety, including the presence of trash, debris, and the encampment of unhoused people. Maintenance is inconsistent, and the park can get quite dirty, especially outside of summer when water is not available. Despite this, many local dogs enjoy the sandy and stone-filled area, but residents urge the city for better care.

Repulsive, dangerous and a health hazard. I wouldn’t even let my dog there-oh wait it’s a dog park. My dog has become ill from this park three times. No longer go. It stinks. There’s human feces and urine and debris all through it and you have to wade through an encampment to get there. When will the city do something about housing the unhoused and cleaning up this so called dog park? They’ve left it derelict for at least 5 years.

Very unsafe park. Needles and pills all over. This has become a camp for unhoused people. Do not take your dog here.

This dog park is unsafe and poorly maintained. There’s trash, needles, and abandoned belongings that attract rodents and create health risks for dogs and people. It could be a great space, but right now it’s unusable.

Summer time isn’t bad since it is covered and the hose is on, so it’s cleaner. But once the water is turned off, don’t go, it’s not clean. Also, homeless people live in there so can’t use it when they sleep in there. Very frustrated for locals that we can’t use the park

Beautiful little dog park that is neglected by the city, almost never cleaned, water hoses are taken away in the winter In order not to freeze, but the park is situated under the FDR so it’s really clean.During the summertime the city says they clean it once a day, but they don’t.
