A waterfall in Manhattan! Morningside Park is underrated and charming. Also full of families nowadays. You can run up and down the steps to Morningside Drive for a good workout.

I wanted to come here for a long time. There is Manhattan schist which is 450 million years old. These are some of the oldest rocks in the city.

So beautiful here. Since I visited in Spring, the flowers were blooming and with the light rain, it all came together so picturesque. It’s a very calming spot and perfect for a stroll, or a pause for mindful meditation, or seated contemplation on the many benches. After all that’s done, you can walk on over to the nearby Central Park, if you’re still craving an extended personal date with nature.
