It was Field Day for our students, and we had big fun. It was my first time visiting this park. It was in the late morning that we arrived, and the ground crew was busy trying to clean up the field. I hear it’s very busy in this area in the late afternoon & evenings. It’s a popular spot for the Dominicans to congregate and hang out with their peops. It’s by the Hudson River, so there’s a nice breeze passing through.
It was a large open field to play outdoor games. We brought blankets and had lunch picnic style, which I really enjoyed, because it brought back fond memories of childhood with my church families 🥹.
We ate our package lunch under a blackberry tree, like one big happy family. It was cool because parents & family members accompanied our classes. The weather was perfect and most of all, the children had the best time ever🏐🪁🎈🎉🧃🍒🍓🥪🥗
This is a great Park but is a bit difficult to access. It requires a lot of walking! The views of the Hudson are lovely!
Oh, and the “beach” is not much more than a small patch of sand and rocks – so much more can be done to create a beach feel in this actually great spot for it!
I look forward to going back to check out the little red lighthouse!
