Located along Bobby Wagner Walk at the E 63rd Street Pedestrian Bridge, Andrew Haswell Green Dog Park is a must-visit dog park in New York, New York for city pups and their owners. Overlooking the scenic East River with views of Roosevelt Island, this spacious, well-maintained park offers a tranquil retreat from the city hustle while keeping you close to pet-friendly trails and running paths. Local dog lovers rave about the park’s vibrant community, attentive ownership, and welcoming atmosphere.
Andrew Haswell Green Dog Park features separate areas for small and large dogs, dirt grounds for comfortable play, and plenty of tennis balls for fetching fun. Dog owners benefit from shaded benches, a wash-off hose, and a kiddie pool for hot summer days. While the park is generally clean and well cared for by local volunteers, visitors should be mindful at night due to occasional lighting issues. For dog-friendly outdoor fun in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, this riverside park delivers a great experience for pets and their people.
The people and dogs at this park are great. They have a side for small dogs and a side for large dogs. There is one (frequently attending) pitbull named Johnny who multiple people/dogs have had problems with but in general he’s pretty nice. The park is taken care of by locals and they do a really good job of upkeep – cleaning and redoing the soil. There are tubs to fill with water in the summer and a wash off hose! Lots of cute puppies!
The lights are out at this stretch of the esplanade where the park is. It makes it tough to see any small dogs or worse the doggie “presents” that so many owners like to leave behind instead of picking up.
Great park – but watch out for this guy and the black and white dog. Both the guy and the dog have anger issues and should be muzzled
Our top choice for UES dog parks! It is along the water, very spacious and has dirt )vs concrete) and all the owners here are extremely attentive, kind, helpful and approachable. There are a ton of tennis balls, benches, a hose for fresh water and a plastic kiddie pool!
The walking bridge is on E 63rd street. And unfortunately, does not connect north into the 70s. Enjoy!!
Beautiful place to jog or walk that’s a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are gorgeous views of Roosevelt island. It is fun watching the boats go by on the East River.
There seems to always be people walking or running or simply enjoying the scenery on the benches.
It’s great that there are dedicated bike paths as well as running and walking paths. Not everyone sticks to the designated paths, but the space/walkway is big enough that I have never seen an issue.
The space is well maintained and clean! Highly recommend to walk this during a beautiful day.
