Ontelaunee Park in New Tripoli, Pennsylvania is a scenic, well-maintained community destination offering something for everyone, including dog owners. With its sprawling open spaces, paved pet-friendly walking trails, and ample opportunities to explore natural areas, the park is a popular pick for dog-friendly hiking and leisurely strolls. The beautifully landscaped grounds feature shaded paths, a creek, and vibrant habitats teeming with birds, butterflies, and more—including a peaceful retreat for enjoying time outside with your furry friend.
Visitors appreciate the clean and covered seating areas, multiple pavilions for shade and shelter, and plenty of parking spots (though it can get busy during large events). While the park is not a designated fenced dog park, it is known as a welcoming spot for responsible dog owners seeking pet-friendly trails and open areas for on-leash walks. Additional amenities include restrooms (porta potties), playgrounds, sports fields, and picnic spots, making Ontelaunee Park a perfect family-friendly outing destination all year round.
Beautiful natural, social, and historical legacy for our community. The park has fields for soccer, basketball, volleyball, a disk golf course, pond and creek for fishing, a playground, and two large pavilions for events. Different trees accent the layout and landscaping, including a habitat for frogs. A shaded walking path winds through the woods, and replicas of settlers’ homes or the covered bridge are photogenic backdrops for prom, a wedding, or graduation day. In a clearing stands an amplifying arena, perfect for concerts on the green. A newer war memorial proudly lists locals who served, and under the American flag is a memorial to the people who brought us to America and the old amusement park. During the Apple Festival, a replica of the Liberty Bell, the old mini-train that’s being rebuilt, and a working printing press are on display for the public. Thank you to all who work hard to care for our park!
Went there to see a concert, very nice and open, very clean. Nice large Pavillion, didn’t get to explore as much as I wanted to but will be back.
I heard couple years ago this festival was pretty big and popular. This year it was small. Maybe hundred people came. But it still interesting. I found a lot of information for myself about different Indian tribes and Indian culture. Their crafts absolutely amazing.
I look forward to this powwow each year. People are great and grounds are beautiful.
A beautiful park, with nice walking trails, a playground, soccer field, disk golf, multiple places to sit and eat a lunch and multiple little bathroom spots (porta potties). Lived in the area for awhile and do not know why I haven’t stopped here. The grounds are maintained beautifully. There are many places to park aswell.
