Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
This local dog park offers an open space for dogs to play and socialize in New Smyrna Beach, FL. After a recent reopening with new grass, the park provides improved grounds and a refreshed environment for pet owners seeking a convenient spot for their furry friends. While it has some shaded spots and seating areas, reviews do note that the park can get a bit messy due to dirt areas, especially after rain, and that the kiddy pool and water stations have been reported as sometimes dirty.
Unique among options in the area, this dog park offers basic amenities like benches, shade, and on-site restrooms (not just portable toilets). However, visitors have mixed experiences with some dog owners not cleaning up after their pets. For dog lovers looking for a friendly, off-leash experience within the community, the Dog Park is a good option, but it benefits from responsible usage and occasional vigilance regarding dog behavior and cleanliness. Please note that as of late June 2025, some reports have mentioned closure for construction of a pickleball court, so checking ahead before visiting is advised.
Just reopened on the 8th today is the 11th and with new grass less dirt. However, everyone always leaves as soon as I get there. Apparently because nobody ever picks up their dogs poop, I have picked up the poop rude dog owners are ruining it yet again.
A lot of ill mannered, bad behaviored dogs with owners who don’t care
This dog park is closed and the lady at the humane society advised me that they are building a pickleball court now as of 6/21/2025
I went there expecting some kind of play ground for dogs but it’s pretty much like my backyard. The plastic kiddy pool they have was mud water and the drinking areas were dirty and I definitely wouldn’t drink from there why should my dog. There is shaded spots and seating I hope they would try to get some more fun stuff for dogs.people do bring unvaccinated dogs there and if your not aware they could get sick
Like this park a lot. There are a lot of dirt areas though which can make it messy. There are also bathrooms for humans (not even a port o potty). So if you’re staying for more than a quick visit that might be an inconvenience. I haven’t had any issues with other ppl or their dogs. All have been friendly so far in the 2 weeks and I’ve been visiting almost every day.
