Lake Hope State Park Beach

It was too cold to swim but the area seemed nice and would like to bring the kids down in a few months when it’s warmer.
It was very clean! I was very annoyed that the whole beach was available and a family of 5 chose to sit right next to me.. so I moved to the far side of the beach for a little peace and quiet! I love that they have reasonably priced boat rentals!
Lake Hope is my family’s favorite summer spot for fun. We love this lake so much! Great hiking trails and campground right around the corner. There’s cabins and a lodge as well if your not a RV or tent camper. There’s a boat house on the lake to rent kayaks, SUP boards, pontoon boats, and paddle boats all at reasonable prices.
The beach and facilities are in decent shape. We were here the beginning of May and it really needed a spring cleaning. Logs washed up on shore, branches laying around, etc. The water is pretty dirty compared to other lake parks we’ve been to. Doesn’t look the most inviting to swim in but would be fine for a boat ride or fishing.
I grew up in the area and always love coming back to Lake Hope. The boat rentals are very reasonably priced, and Carol is the best! She helped up with the boat rental, and helped my disabled mom get into the boat. We loved our day on the lake, and recommend you come check it out too! The wildlife in the area is fun too. Saw some fun critters, and caught smallmouth bass in the lake. Can’t wait to come back.
