Lovely dog park with wide open space to run, with benches and shade trees. There’s a smaller fenced area for little dogs, too.
Very nice dog park. On the smaller side. Make sure to bring water for your pup.
When I first brought my rescue dog home from the shelter, he was terrified of most things and people, but he loved other dogs. I searched for dog-friendly locations in my area, and found this park listed among the options. That was over a year ago now and I can wholeheartedly endorse this park as having some of the friendliest human beings and the widest variety of dogs I’ve come across in my life as a resident of Connecticut. Because of this non-profit, volunteer-based dog park, my sweet rescue dog has started to come out of his shell about humans because he consistently has experiences with them when they’re being kind but responsible dog owners. We enjoy this park so much that we’ve become friends with people and dogs here. I feel lucky it exists, and I support it by attending meetings and events. The involved members of the community of this park are what makes it a real hidden gem. You may not see all of that on a random visit, but if you’re a regular member of the park, you may understand what I’m trying to describe. On any given evening, for us, it is a slice of dog heaven on earth.
Ample parking, two very nice enclosures, including one especially large one for larger/more active dogs. The smaller enclosure is perfect for dogs that are smaller or prefer less excitement. Well stocked with baggies for cleanup and bins to put them in, and I’ve only met friendly, responsible owners there so far!
Large park, mostly grass and dirt. All dog and small dog sides. No water. Trash and bags are available. Trees would provide shade when they have leaves.
