Candlewood Lake Park

Candlewood Lake Park is a beautiful, wheelchair-accessible park that offers a tranquil setting near the water. It’s great for families and children, with visitors enjoying peaceful walks with their dogs and relaxing in the small beach area where foot wading and sitting are popular. Although swimming areas are limited and some misconceptions about public access exist, the park remains a favored spot for quiet enjoyment and nature appreciation.

One of my favorite place 🏞
Drive an hour to get there and it turned out to be a private marina, not a state park. They wouldn’t even let me park there while I figured out where else to go.. I asked if there were any public access spots nearby and they said no.
I go to this park like every summer with my family and it’s always such a fun time. Definitely recommend going the water is so nice to swim in.
Clean, private and quite… Will definitely be back agin
We drove half an hour seeing the photos and the satellite view on Google map that shows there is a spot like a beach and people reviewed it mentioned swimming. However, swimming isn’t allowed here and the spot is really small. Only one family could be there at a time. It’s a beautiful tiny spot as you can see in my photos. The most that can be done here is to deep your feet in the water and you can also take some camping chairs just to relax. Beware of the caterpillars, BTW! We’ve seen several people walking in the trail with their dogs.
