🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Located in the heart of New Baltimore, Festival Park is an accessible, family-friendly park offering a beautiful mix of recreational opportunities for two- and four-legged visitors. While not exclusively a dog park, its pet-friendly walking and jogging trails, plentiful natural shade from large trees, and open green spaces make it a popular spot for dog owners in the area. The park features a one-mile packed gravel trail ideal for leashed dog walks and relaxing strolls, making it a great place for pet-friendly outings near New Baltimore.
Festival Park is wheelchair accessible, features shaded picnic areas, and has a playground for children, making it an excellent all-ages destination. While dogs must remain on-leash as there is no fenced-in dog area, the grassy fields and spacious open areas provide room for play. There are no permanent restrooms or running water, but porta potties and picnic tables are available. Festival Park’s natural tree canopy helps you and your pup beat the summer heat while enjoying some of New Baltimore’s best walking and pet-friendly recreation spots.
I love this park because there are many large trees that give natural shade to sit and watch the kids while they play. There is no running water, however, there is an outhouse. (Just be sure to have hand sanitizer.)
This was our favorite park/playground but haven’t been in a while. Some of the equipment is broken and unsafe for smaller kids. There is ripped caution tape all over as well. Talking to another Mom who goes to the park often, it’s been broken for a quote some time. I hope they do fix it and soon. Other than that, place is still beautiful.
Very nice part has a lot of options of things to do such as football softball soccer walking jogging running as well as a playscape for children. There are porta potties located in the facility. For the most part they are clean would be nice to build a permanent restroom being that this park is a large park, that has quite a few visitors everyday.
Grandkids have played tball here for 3 yrs. This year they cordoned off so many areas that parking is IMPOSSIBLE. Don’t know how they expect to have 4 baseball fields, soccer fields, and large playground all open and being used at the same time with the new LIMITED parking. Park need to add parking ateas or at least remove the cordoned off areas. Not user friendly this year!
The park and 1 mile packed gravel trail is clean and typically quiet. The playground is shaded and has 2 baby swings and I think 4 kid swings. Some of the playground equipment has been broken for a while (missing slide or something, some unsteady little hopper things), but is still quite useable with a nice padded ground. A couple soccer fields, two or three softball/baseball diamonds. It would be nice if there was a gazebo for some shade or for parties. If not that, tennis courts or pickleball courts would be a great addition too! There are portapotties on site by the baseball fields.
Edit: I bumped it up to 5 stars because the slide is fixed now.
Edit 2: bumped back down to 4 to bring attention to another part of the play structure that is broken now. The big bubble viewing window is missing, so a child could fall right though the open circle. Hopefully, they fix it soon!
