Kay Bay

Great little stretch of beach you can bring your pup to. Quite, not the best view. They also have bathrooms and a relatively new playground that looks like it would be fun if I was a kid.

Beautiful clean park on the shore of Shark river. It is very well maintained. A nice place to take a walk along the beach. There are many benches along the water. They have quite a few picnic tables, some under cover. Beautiful sunsets here.

One of Monmouth County’s hidden gems. A spectacular place to catch a sunset on the Shark river and well maintained park. Dog friendly, picnic tables, playground and small boardwalk overlooking a Sandy beach. There’s also a kayak launch and paid storage for them.

I found this lovely, quiet park by accident. It’s directly overlooking the bay in a nice little slice of a neighborhood.

It was lunchtime on a weekday and others were at picnic tables, walking their dogs on the beach and watching kids playing in the playground.

I’m sure I’ll return.

Beach, Boardwalk, and views… a nice gem and a good place for kids. This is not an extensive area but it sure packs it in the positives. Small beach area, nice sand, nice views of the bay (sometimes the Jet skis out there in the bay can be distracting). There is a boardwalk above the beach area with benches. There is a nice playground area for the kids and an adjacent pavilion for parties etc. Very clean area. There is some sort of bring your own Kayak station also… need more info on that… but cool. Lots of parking (or perhaps just enough) to make sure this place has a good balance of folks to area ratio. There are horseshoe courts that no one seemed interested in. I would not recommend letting kids in the water at all (swimming itself is banned here, and there are signs not to harvest shellfish – that should be all you need to know, I am sure this area is in recovery ecologically but right now… be wary with the little ones – great chance to let them play in a big sandbox though!) Want somewhere to chill and just look out over open water? Great spot.
