If you’re searching for a dog-friendly beach spot in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, the Public Beach Access at 1813 S Waccamaw Dr is a scenic option. With calming waters and a tranquil atmosphere, it’s ideal for owners and pets who appreciate a quieter coastal experience, especially useful during the off-season. The sandy stretches are typically less crowded and provide a relaxing setting for a stroll with your dog on the beach.
Parking can be challenging, especially in the summer, so arriving early or being prepared to walk from nearby off-street parking is recommended. While there are no fenced dog play zones here, the location is welcoming to children and families, making it a potential spot for a multi-generational outing. Beach walks here are known for their cleanliness and peace, making it an inviting selection for dog owners looking for a simple beach day in Murrells Inlet.
I felt lucky to find a parking place and a local fisherman gave directions to a nearby public entrance to the beach. The walk on the sand was very nice. Not crowded and no litter.
It’s sad to still see the damage along the south end of Garden City
Not much parking around here
Good luck. Summer time parking is a good joke to tell everyone back home about, get there early I guess, or just walk to it like we did… Getting in and out is comical too. Just park a few streets from it, there’s of street parking not to far if you keep your eye out for it. Lock it up too, if I only had time to share a few experiences. The minute you take your eye off your belongings, they are no longer yours. It will happen that quick. Plan your Beach trip according.
Calm waters and calming atmosphere. I definitely recommend in the off season.
