A nice mile and a half walk til you reach the jetty, bring your shoes ! The concrete gets pretty rough. It was super windy when i went, so make sure you have all your goodies secured. My phone almost blew out of my hand while trying to take a picture ! Also the tide was high and i was pretty much in the splash zone trying to reach the very tip of the jetty, but loved every minute. You can see Myrtle Beach from there ! Totally worth it. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop !
You love to walk around to relax…be on your own and just breathe? Go to the jetty…you will have to walk approx 2 3 miles on beach shore to reach it…..but worth it…you ll see probably lot of fishermen there and spot many crabs …maybe a few weasels on the pier too 😉 but the view over the ocean, murrels and garden city is beautiful…
One of the few jetties that is walkable. Very foggy day here but we saw a mink – a cute one too. It was very friendly and approached us, stopping to say hi.
Great place to go and see some cool animals. Fishing is good here, caught a couple rays and some smaller fish. Walk is about 1.2 miles on the beach from the parking lot but definitely worth it.
On my way back off the jetty I was followed by a adorable wild mink 😊 I guess maybe others feed them shrimp or something cause all I said was “hi cutieeeee” and that was it, the friendly little furball followed me and walked along side pausing to turn around and see if I was keeping up lol. Other than that I saw sea turtles, blue herring, pelicans, etc. packed with wildlife.
