Located at 900 W Ashland Ave, Emerson Dog Park is one of the top dog-friendly destinations in Muncie, Indiana. This spacious off-leash dog park offers plenty of room for pups to run, play, and socialize. Regulars praise the park’s welcoming community atmosphere and the friendly group of local dog owners who frequent the park, making it a great spot to meet fellow pet enthusiasts.
The park is fully fenced and features separate areas for large and small dogs, ensuring a safe environment for dogs of all sizes. Amenities include picnic tables, seating, doggy water fountains (working especially in the summer months), agility equipment, and waste stations with poop bags provided by the humane society. Emerson Dog Park is wheelchair accessible, offers convenient parking, and is maintained by the local parks department. Do note: the park can get muddy after rain or snowy in the winter, and on nice days around late afternoon it can be pretty busy with as many as 25 dogs enjoying the space. If you’re looking for a dog-friendly, pet-safe park in Muncie, this is a must-visit location!
Used to love this park.. however people have started using it as a way to temperament test their dogs the lazy and dangerous way. My dog was attacked and instead of support or help I was shamed by a shelter worker for bringing my dog to a “dirty dog park.” She continued with unhelpful remarks and told me how run down/ dangerous this park is. I’d never return again considering the people who are in charge of maintaining this park speak of it in this way and couldn’t care less what goes on here! If you’re wondering this person faced no consequences for their irresponsible behavior for their dog attacking mine from the back UNPROVOKED!
Lovely place. My pittie puppy adores going here and playing with her pup friends. It’s very nice to see mutual dog owners there who are always so friendly.
This is the best dog park around this area. There are some people who go with dogs that aren’t the best behaved though. Thankfully that tends to be few and far between. The dog agility equipment is alright. I do wish there was an actual course for dogs to run though though. The grounds are pretty well maintained and safe for pets to play on. Definitely bring some doggy waste bags along though. They do have dispensers. But only one in each area of the park. In the big dog side and the little dog side.
Really nice dog park that you don’t need to have them on a leash. It has water and the parks department keeps it mowed. Humane society provides bags to pick up after your dog
This dog park is large with plenty of room for your dog to run and play. The area is fenced and previously required membership, but for the last year or so the area has not been locked and is basically open to the public. On nice days around 4-5:30pm there are generally 25 dogs here. During the summer moths there is a working doggy water fountian. There is a large group of regulars that are nice to talk to as well.
The only downsides to this park is that durning the winter it can get muddy, and during dry summer days it can get dusty.
