This park is fine for overnight stays. The ground is mostly gravel with much of the paved areas needing replacement. It’s lacking the paving, patios, and fencing of the fancier KOA parks. We just need a clean safe place to park overnight and this fit our needs. We paid NULL for 1 night and that was a good value.
While the amenities and staff were a plus, the overall lack of cleanliness and preparedness made for a disappointing experience.

Our stay at Renfro Valley KOA was just okay, but unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose to return.
Upon check-in, it was immediately clear that the cabin had not been properly cleaned or prepared for new guests. We found used soap in the shower, the hand soap dispenser was nearly empty, and the coffee supply was low. While the sheets and towels smelled freshly laundered, but the towels were still damp—suggesting the laundry process may have been rushed.
The futon cover was noticeably stained and grungy. There was visible dust and debris in corners, on floors, and on countertops—signs that a thorough cleaning hadn’t taken place.
Additionally, half the pillows were missing protective covers, which we only noticed in the morning after our kids had slept on them with just pillowcases.
There were no dish rags or towels provided, leaving us to use bath washcloths for kitchen needs. The dish rack was also dusty and unclean. The grill was in such poor condition—dirty and unmaintained—that we couldn’t use it, and there were no cleaning supplies provided to make it usable.
On a positive note, the campground offers a good variety of activities including a pool, mini golf, and volleyball. The staff were kind and responsive when we reported the issue with the coffee and soap, but as more problems arose, we opted not to keep reaching out since it was apparent the cabin simply wasn’t guest-ready.
Old campground that needs updates. Sites very unlevel. Low water pressure. The laundry room looked nice we didn’t use. The pool was nice. The kids in our group enjoyed the playground even with jump pad busted. Two families were side beside sharing a pedestal. When we got there surge protector stated that there was something wrong with electric. Someone came to look at it and stated “we don’t usually rent these spots they don’t work right”. He said it was fixed and their surge protector was not working properly. Lasted overnight and next day they were getting shocked again. Someone else came and fixed it ( no problem with their surge protector) wiring was old and was replaced. We payed for a concrete patio with 50 amp service. We were given a site with a pet pen (we didn’t pay for) because they said it was the only 50 amp available. The patio was nice very large with several chairs and patio set, large fire pit, but site so unlevel and narrow we had a hard time putting our steps down (it was a tripping hazard). Getting level was a nightmare!!!
We have been camping here for over 17+ years. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a review. We’ve been close friends with numerous owners here and have met people that are still like family. We still camp and have reunions with friends we’ve met here! I love this park. It’s a home-away-from-home for us and I’ve loved everyone I’ve met here. Tina, the office manager, goes out of her way to make this the best experience for everyone! She works so hard to keep everything perfect for the workers and campers here! Jay is one of the hardest workers I’ve seen and can do it all. We can’t recommend this park enough. Although the prices have gone up quite a bit, it’s worth a long weekend getaway, as there is so much to do in and around the park. Concerts, crafts, antiques and more, will keep you busy or just relaxing around the campfire! There are a few things that could be better maintained (more rock, asphalt repaired, trees trimmed, etc). But these are things I’m sure will come in time. Summer is now in full swing and I look forward to camping periodically from now through October! Thank you, Renfro Valley KOA Holiday!
We planned a weekend away. Rented the cabin. Arrived to a dirty cabin. The linens were clean though. They only provide sheets for the couch bed and loft area. We left a blow up mattress for the next guest. Signs stated there were clean up fees. Strange… wasn’t clean to begin with.., the broom had no stick, the sponge was old and crusty. And let’s not forget the mouse feces all over the cookware. We purchased new and also left them behind for the next guest. I purchased a sponge, trash bags because they leave you with 1 extra, and a new broom. As for outdoorsy stuff… used to be super kid friendly, the bounce pillow was our favorite but it’s popped now. Playground seems to have been updated recently, it was nice. The pool is usually our go to, but was filthy with partials floating everywhere. I’d love to stay again but not sure I will. I am local so it was first choice. They did have a welcome night cookout, and I assume Sunday breakfast, but did not eat either.
