Bridgeport Dam Park offers a natural outdoor setting for dog owners in Mt Pleasant, PA. Although specific amenities are not detailed, it provides an opportunity to enjoy a visit near the dam in a scenic environment.
I really like this place went fishing on it in a small boat didn’t get to take any pictures yet but I’ll be going again will update at a later time but the few hours I was on it it was very nice peaceful calm. Overall it was a great experience would recommend going there the only negative would have to be typical teenage kids being inappropriate on the dock itself but that’s life what can you do.
My daughter loves fishing here.
Very pretty and loved seeing the ducks. Wish there was more in the way of trails to walk our dog.
Once the Google GPS gets you there this looks like a good place. It is big. I didn’t have much luck but it was extremely windy and wasn’t the best conditions. I look forward to going back when the weather is better.
Take note that the boat ramp is slippery and there is no dock. Get on and off your kayak with care.
I did not make it back for a few years, but was able to go today. I was disappointed to see that around 1/4 of the boat ramp has split off leaving rusty rebar sticking out. This made launching a kayak much more difficult and probably makes launching anything but the smallest boat impossible.
The lake itself and surroundings are awesome. Very clean water, restrooms and the grass was cut. They just need to invest in a new boat ramp, or just take it out, dump in chips and go kayak only like Mammoth. They could because a much bigger lake is only a mile or so away. I am sure larger boats use that regularly anyhow.
As it is, someone is going to get hurt!
Went to visit the Evergreen Drive In but they were having a private concert. So I Googled for something to do near Mt. Pleasant and found Bridgeport Dam Park. It’s a nice hidden gem that isn’t marked but you can find it on Google Maps. The dam is easily accessible, has a clean rest area and a boat launch. The lake is deceptively large with plenty of fishing and boating opportunities. It seems like it is a limited horsepower lake. Will visit again, Highly Recommended! 🙂
