If you’re searching for a top-rated dog park in Mt Airy, Maryland, look no further than Watkins Park – Mount Airy Dog Park. Conveniently located at 615 Center St, this dog-friendly park boasts large, spacious fenced areas designed for dogs to run freely and safely off-leash. Easy access is available from the main Watkins Park parking lot, and the dog park features well-maintained shaded areas, benches for owners, and ample space for dogs to socialize. The unique three-section layout helps to distribute dogs, reducing crowding and supporting a positive play environment.
Pet parents and their pups will also appreciate the accessible amenities: there’s a water fountain with a dog bowl just outside the park fence (seasonal availability), paved walkways, and plenty of shade. Accessible parking and entrances make it accommodating for wheelchair users, and the park is also kid-friendly, making it an excellent family destination. For those seeking dog-friendly trails or a relaxing day out with both human and canine companions, this Mt Airy dog park is a community favorite.
Two very spacious fenced areas with benches for the humans and shaded areas for the doggos. There’s also a water fountain just outside the place with a bowl for the dogs and a bottle-filling piece for the humans. Easy access from the Watkins Park parking lot.
There are signs posted telling people not to park at the school to access the dog park. It’s really not that long of a walk from the main Watkins parking lot.
People always bring their dogs to the park but never enter the dog park. It’s really stupid. Your dogs want to come in and play. Let them. Stop denying your dogs social interaction you monsters. 5 stars.
Nice shady walk and dog park!
Love coming here! The way the fenced in areas are in three sections is so helpful to have the number of dogs spread out to not create a problem. There is a nice water fountain for humans and dogs outside the fence, but unfortunately, it is turned off in the winter, so there no access if there are nice days in Nov/Dec. One time we visited, the grass had just been cut, and whoever did it just ran over all the toys and tennis balls, destroying them. So bring your own toys just in case.
Met some nice people, made a new friend. Some of the dogs not so friendly—i did not see it divided into small and larger dogs as many parks are.
