🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions
If you’ve spent time at an off-leash park, you’ve probably seen it:A parent strolls in with a stroller 🚼 or […]
Echo Lake Dog Park is a popular and welcoming spot for dogs and their owners located at 1137 Globe Ave in Mountainside, NJ. Recently renovated, this dog park features multiple upgrades, including accessibility improvements and more shaded areas, making it an appealing dog-friendly destination for Union County residents. The park is wheelchair accessible and offers a ramp for those with strollers or mobility challenges.
The dog park boasts clearly separated sections for small and large dogs, each with secure fencing. Pet owners will appreciate ample seating, benches, a water fountain designed for dogs, and play structures that keep pups engaged. Whether you have a tiny companion who loves the little pool or a larger dog wanting more room to play, the Echo Lake Dog Park offers a safe and fun environment in a scenic, pet-friendly setting. Please note, the park can become muddy, especially after rain or during the winter before the grass has fully grown in following renovations.
Why the dog park is taking so long to be open, park employees saying it’s because the grass growing, the park looks good do way it’s, we (dogs and humans)don’t need a golf course,we just a space to have some fun
Do us a favor open the park for hours best friends!!

Wonderful dogs and their owners. Newly remodeled with play structures and more shade. My dog’s happiest place on earth.
The renovation is senseless dogs don’t know where they are and do not care how the park is designed. It was perfect the way it was. Waste of taxpayers’ money could have lowered property taxes. Idiot politicians wasting money on useless projects.
The renovation is complete. However it will be closed from 24Feb2025 to 03Mar2025. I like the ramp making it accessible for people on wheelchair or strollers. I like the water fountain station to limit wasting water.
The dog park is opened but it’s not ready. there’s a layer of straw. It’s still winter so there’s no grass yet. it is very muddy at the moment. I will wait until mid spring to come back.
I also like the fence between the small and large section is visible. I don’t think the renovation fixed the drainage issue and grass issue which would make this dog park a elite 5 stars dog park.
Best dog park around! Especially great for small dogs with the cutest little pool
