FAQ for Doe Valley Campground in Mountain City Tennessee:
After searcing up and down the mountain range from border to border and visiting over 50 campgrounds, THIS is the best out there. It’s smaller and has a community feel, rural with AMAYZING views, is on 100 acres itself but backs up to 9,000 acres of Doe Valley Recreation land with awesome trails (hiking, biking, motor sports) and has amayzing owners at a GREAT price. We sold our house in Texas, bought an RV until we figure our our next step and I told my husbad I would rather die here than go back to Dallas.
This campground was quiet, clean and peaceful. It’s also dog friendly which is really nice. There are pull through sites that are easy to get setup in and the sites aren’t too crowded. I really enjoyed my stay there and will definitely be staying there again next time I’m in the area!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️We stayed at Doe Valley Campground with our 23-foot RV and boat trailer and had a fantastic experience. The pull-through site made parking simple, hookups were convenient, and everything was spotless. The campground is peaceful with beautiful mountain views, and the owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. Perfect location for enjoying Watauga Lake and nearby trails — we’ll definitely be back!
Another great experience at Doe Valley Campground! Easy in and out, great hosts, perfect location connected to the off-road park and several good restaurants just a few minutes in town.
The site was nice with plenty of space to pull thru with no problems. The park was clean quite and not far from townThe only issue I had was no one ever came to check me in and not one of the owners ever answered or returned my 2-3 calls and messages for assistance. I unfortunately left my electric plug at home. I just needed advice and direction on where to get one. I went to the camp host 3 times and no one answered my knocks. I was all over town the next day and bought cords and plug adapters that did not work.I ran thru a full tank of propane to run the generator for one day. No AC, and no lights, my fault I know but some response would have been nice. I just decided give up and to go home a day early. While I was packing up everything the owner came by. No offer of a refund for loss of a whole day. No apology for not returning my calls. I wish the owner would have just returned my call and supported his paying camper. Lesson learned, bring your own plug, do not expect support and go elsewhereDr Rothery
I did the 9 mile loop on the MTB trails and it was great. Rolling hills added up to around 1600’ of elevation gain. More hikers and runners than mountain bikers when I was there. Well maintained and easy to follow trails.
