🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Lewis Morris Park is a popular outdoor destination offering dog owners in Morristown, NJ, a variety of pet-friendly amenities. The park features scenic hiking trails ideal for on-leash dog walking, wide open natural spaces, a small swimming lake with a beach, and multiple picnic areas equipped with BBQ grills. It’s a great place to experience quiet nature walks, unwind by the water, or enjoy a family or group gathering with your furry friend in tow.
The dog park at Lewis Morris includes separate enclosures for small and large dogs, a few benches for owners, and nearby seasonal water fountains. While the fenced area could use some improvements (such as better gate latches and more grass for paws instead of pavement), the broader park is welcoming for well-behaved, leashed dogs. Ample parking is available, and visitors can also take advantage of seasonal port-a-potty restrooms, picnic spots, and peaceful hiking trails throughout the area.

nice trails in this area and a lovely area to have a picnic (they have several picnic tables). they also have grills here too if you wanted to barbecue. there is a small stream and a lake. there is some parking spaces as well. overall a nice place to enjoy nature and hang out by yourself or with friends and family. would come back and try a different trail
This park is gorgeous and has lovely trails for hiking and on leash dog walking. Lots of streams, bridges and trail options.
Sadly the off leash dog park is less inviting. Gates don’t latch properly.
There is a small dog and big dog pen, a few benches. Most of the dog park is paved and not nice for running dog paws. No water available in the fenced area, but a seasonal water fountain is nearby.
Porta potty avail off season.
Just go for a hike with your pooch.
Lota of wide open spaces. Lots of trails for walks and hiking. An exploratory trip here says I will be visiting here in the summertime for sure, though I wager it will be nowhere near as deserted as it was this day. There are several parking annexes, and several different areas to the park. There is a baseball diamond area, there is a boating/swimming pond area, and there is an open area for eating. First trip here was an early expedition. Will be sure to update this review and add more photos after a proper 2nd trip.
Great park, plenty of parking, short or long trails depending on your desired activity level. Most of them have some grades to them, a bit of uphill or downhill, but nothing too difficult. The trails are marked, but slightly more clearer marking would be great.
There’s a small lake as well with a beach area that didn’t seem too crowded during our visit, but the trails are what we focused on, and they were absolutely empty. Very peaceful.
