Located at 110 Greenlee Ford Rd, the Catawba River K-9 Korral Dog Park is a popular destination for local dog owners seeking a safe and pet-friendly environment near the scenic riverfront. This dog park in Morganton, North Carolina features two spacious, fully fenced areas where pups can play off-leash and stretch their legs just behind the soccer fields. The park’s proximity to the Catawba River and local walking trails makes it an excellent spot for dog-friendly hiking and outdoor adventures.
One highlight of the park is its divided spaces—while neither section is formally labeled for specific sizes, visitors often self-segregate by dog size for safety. There is partial shade from trees in one area, providing relief on sunny days, but you’ll want to bring your own water as there aren’t fountains nearby. Recently, dog waste stations have been installed and are regularly stocked, making it convenient for pet owners to clean up after their dogs. With plenty of room to run and great river views, this dog park offers a welcoming and friendly community atmosphere for Morganton dog lovers.
There are 2 decent sized, fenced in areas. One has some tree shading. Both are right behind the soccer fields which was a little distracting for my dog, but some of the other dogs seemed to enjoy watching the players. Bring your own water. Catawba river is not to far to walk off 😀

Holes in the smaller dog park really need filled in and packed down. It won’t be long until a dog or a human breaks a leg.
PLEASE, if your dog digs, it’s YOUR responsibility to fill in the holes completely when you leave. There were 4 new small but deep holes today. Nobody else was there. Had to be extremely cautious with our blind dog.
Plenty of room for our Kody to run and play! Just wish there were spigots for water. Have to haul your own in.

This location offers two completely fenced-in areas for dogs to stretch their legs. Neither is identified for dogs of a particular size, but the section furthest from the parking lot would better-accommodate larger dogs. Typically, if someone occupies one of the sections, it is my experience that subsequent visitors trying to segregate by the size of their dogs. This is not always the case, however. Bear in mind the closest water fountain is over 100 yards away, so bring water during the hotter months. They have also now provided doggie bag stations, and are regularly stocked, but play it safe and bring your own when you come.
