Nice place to visit but if you don’t have Grey or white hair then you’ll have an older retired guy park next to you and stare hard the entire time and then follow you around your entire trip when all you’re trying to do is eat and watch the river and use your phone to watch TV, movies, listen to music, surf social media, or shop online before going to the store to pick it up. As if younger people aren’t allowed there to enjoy themselves also and be allowed in a public area to just relax. If it wasn’t every single time I’ve gone there and have never mistreated the place by littering or driving off the road or just be disrespectful to even the guys following me around and staring me down the entire time I’d give it 4 stars and think about a fifth. Just really no reason to treat anybody that way all because a group or guys think they run the area when they don’t as I’ve asked the municipal what’s up with them doing this.

Part of the Montour Reserve. Formerly the location of the Iroquois Indian village Otstonwakin. Madame Elisabeth Couc Montour and her son Andrew Montour, metis French Indians, supplied explorers and government agents who stopped here in the mid-1700’s. Some signs on the path here explain archaeology in this area but ignore the significant recent history or keep it secret. Avoid the restrooms.
