Located just off Interstate 70 in Montgomery City, Missouri, Hickory Ridge Campground LLC offers a pet-friendly environment ideal for travelers and locals seeking a relaxing outdoor retreat. This campground stands out for its welcoming and helpful staff, easy-access drive-through RV sites, and focus on guest comfort—even for those arriving without reservations. The spacious, shady campsites provide ample room for pets and owners to enjoy, making it popular among dog owners passing through central Missouri.
While the park is recognized as “pet friendly” and features clean, well-kept grounds and a large swimming pool, there is no dedicated off-leash dog area or fenced dog park facility based on current information. However, there’s plenty of open space for leashed walks, and the overall atmosphere is accommodating for guests traveling with dogs. With thoughtful amenities like full hook-ups for RVs, reliable staff support, and an emphasis on cleanliness, Hickory Ridge Campground is well-suited for those looking for a dog-friendly stopover or a relaxing stay in Montgomery City.
We stayed just one night here but found the park to be clean, nicely cared for and with an assortment of amenities. The staff were especially pleasant and eager to help. I would gladly give them 5 stars if our site had been more level. We were in a 40’ MH with toad and the rear of our coach was 11” lower than the front. Still, it’s a nice place with great staff and I recommend it.
Great little campground for a one night stop over. Lots of long term rigs. Water pressure great – except this morning when we had none. Seems someone thought it amusing to turn off our water in the middle of the night. Swimming pool very nice – needs some umbrellas or shade areas to sit other than the janky area outside of the fenced area where all the smokers sit. Washer and dryers worked very well and were only NULL.50. Owners are super nice and are definitely making improvements. Our site was easy in/out and was level – we didn’t need to unhook.
We stayed one night in our RV on a much longer trip. The park is just off Interstate 70 and just lovely. The sites are spaced out so that you don’t feel crowded and the owner/ host escorted us personally to our drive through space. He also had good advice for us newish RV owners. Pet friendly and a pool as well, though we didn’t take time to enjoy the pool, it looked clean. The price was right.
We arrived without a reservation. Just needed 1 night. The lady that checked us in was very accommodating. She found us a nice spot. Good 50 amp power and full hookups. The site was very level and long, so we didn’t have to unhook. If we are back in the area, we definitely would go back.
What a pleasure to stay here for a quick overnight after a long day on the road! We did not have reservations, but were welcomed by one of the owners. He was so friendly and accommodating, helping us choose a nice shady site. It was a really hot day, so we also enjoyed the pool, which was much larger than a typical campground pool. Our site was very reasonably priced (even before the military discount) and it was long enough where we did not have to unhook. It’s evident that the owners are invested in making this an awesome place to stay!
