Hawthorne Park is a small neighborhood green space located at 7510 SE King Rd in Milwaukie, Oregon. Known for its beautiful, lush grass and unique birdhouses, this park offers a peaceful spot for a quick stroll or picnic. While the park is compact, with a short perimeter walk, it connects conveniently to quiet suburban streets via a charming wooden bridge, making it ideal for walking your dog on-leash. For families, there’s a minimal play structure and safe bike areas for kids, perfect for local visits.
This dog-friendly park is best suited to nearby residents, as there’s no designated parking—access is walk-up only from a busy street with limited sidewalk space. Amenities include a well-maintained green lawn, some benches, and a garbage bin, but shade is limited and no restrooms or water fountains are available. Hawthorne Park stands out for its serene environment and well-kept grounds, offering a quiet escape and a calm grass area for both pet owners and their furry friends.
While this looks like a decent little park there is no drive up access. This is a walk up only. The only access is on a very busy street with a small sidewalk. It is probably great for the neighborhood but for visitors it blows. This park has a few swings and trees, otherwise not mentionable.

Beautiful lush grass….maybe the best grass to lay down on in Portland – but this is likely due to the very loud and busy street that the park sits on.

Minimal playground….2 old swings and that’s it. But it’s ~100m from home so we come a lot to let my grandkids ride their bike safely. An upgraded playground would be nice 👍

As I was walking by this little Park I’ve noticed that and need some weed eating done and people that walk their dogs do not clean up after their dogs and there is one garbage and one bench near the front opening letting into the little Park area and there is a opening in the back of this little Park. I wouldn’t go in Major League because of the first 2 Reasons in this posting.

It’s a pretty tiny little park with limited shade, but it’s a public green space and it does have some play structures
