A nice walk. Not too difficult, but a constant slight incline upward for almost 3 miles and decline downward afterward over rocky forest roads causes you to be extra careful while walking to avoid a slip or fall. Lots of gnats and mosquitos due to many days of rain last week..made sure to have my bug spray. Tiny side trail to a beautiful waterfall was worth the walk! Trail ended at the same spot at Mud lake that the Davenport trailhead uses.
All in all, I’m glad I went. However, the Davenport trailhead trail to Mud Lake is much more fun and scenic and has more chipmunks than any other trail I’ve trekked. They’re adorable.
