Worst dog park we’ve ever used. Long and narrow making it difficult to use a Chuckit. Entire fence line has thick tall weeds, good luck finding your ball if it bounces in there. Grass looked like it hadn’t been mowed in a month. Even if ball fell in the grass it could not be seen. Many users did not pickup their dogs’ poop. I couldn’t wait to be done exercising my dog.
It is a good use of space. The dog park is long, but very narrow. It was also very wet in several spots. The path even had standing water over a spot or two. Poop bags were available with a garbage can specifically for poop. There is a fee to use with a pay station at the entrance. I would expect more for a fee dog park.
I did see some small airplanes landing and taking off.
At first blush the area appeared as a long track, but when you round the corner it opens up into a wider space. If you’re new here, use Google maps as the dog exercise park is not clearly marked. It’s marked as Penni Klein park that looks like a school’s baseball field and such. Go into the park to the edges of the parking lot to get there. Plenty of parking/disabled parking. The entrance is the typical fenced entry going onto grass. There is a single Porta potty in the parking lot.
The entrance gate is not a double gate. You unleash in the park. So, it’s possible a dog could reach your leashed dog. The park is a long narrow space with one picnic table and some shaded areas. You should bring water. I didn’t see a small dog area. It’s a nice little space.
The park is very convenient for me and I appreciate the dog park in my community. That being said… the park can get very wet with large mud puddles, so bring a towel! If you just groomed your furry friend… beware! The park has been out of bags for servers days at a time, the poop in the park is everywhere. The park can get busy in the early evening and I’ve experienced some very rude dogs at the park with owners that don’t seem to care. On the other hand it’s a great place to meet new friends and furry friends too.
