A great alternative to the herring run on 44. This location is quieter, does not host a crafts festival, has informative signs and often has friendly volunteers to educate during the herring run season. (usually mid April) Park for free across the street at the old DPW building- the marsh beside it is also the final destination for these thousands of fishy parents-to-be.
Great little park to view the herring run.
This was so awesome. I didn’t know what to expect. I was preasantly surprised. Went with my husband,14 yr old son, and 8 yr old twins. It’s amazing to see all the herring. Went to visit some vendors, and again,it was great. I felt like there was something for everyone. The shuttles from the library to the park were so helpful. Didn’t have to wait. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to go back.
Great little park. The herring run late March-April. There are so many of them during this time & they’re very easy to spot. You can see them swimming upstream, pooling at the beginning of the ladder, & jumping the ladder. This is a nice spot to visit even when the herring aren’t active. Picnic tables onsite.
Fun and interesting little place when the Herring are running. Definitely worth a quick stop with the kids or grand kids. Bring a sandwich or an ice cream and enjoy the outdoors.
