Located in the heart of Mesa, Washington, Poe Park is a spacious spot popular with travelers and locals alike, making it a great dog park in the region. The park features a designated fenced area specifically for dogs, ensuring a safe off-leash environment. Entry and exit are made secure with double-gated quarantine-style entrances to help prevent dog escapes and minimize stress during arrivals and departures.
Poe Park stands out for its ample shade from mature trees, seating options, and a direct water fountain for dogs—though visitors note that water availability can sometimes be an issue. The ground is mostly gravel and pebbles, which aids cleanliness but can become hot in summer or muddy during heavy rain. Owners can enjoy beautiful river views, a swim area, and plenty of parking. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the park is equipped to accommodate both quick stops and extended family outings, with playgrounds and picnic areas nearby.
Dirty. Trash all over. Restrooms closed, so people urinated on doors. Great place to let dogs out on leashes.
Very cute small town park, particularly expansive and has great toys!
We always stop here on our way through. Lots of toys and the kids love the zip line. Park is spacious and well taken care of overall.
Lovely park! Stopped with kids during a drive to Spokane and surprisingly impressed. Two separate playgrounds with lots of options. They have a cool zip line with seat for kids to enjoy. I was too heavy and my trip ended about halfway due to hitting ground! Ha!
I would stop by here again. Only Hong I didn’t like was all the box elder bugs near the trees/parking area.
