My Environmental Science professor required us to visit Norman J. Levy Park & Preserve, and although I went reluctantly, I found it to be a truly beautiful park. The park is home to some charming farm animals that add to its unique atmosphere.

One of the highlights is the easy trail leading to the highest point of the park, which is only about 120 feet in elevation. From there, you can enjoy a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. The serene environment and well-maintained trails make it a great place to unwind and appreciate nature.

Despite being a required visit, I ended up having a wonderful time and would recommend this park to anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic outdoor experience.

Awesome trail park, small enough to be comfortable and large enough to be challenging. The main trail splits into other paths that make your workout a little more challenging. It has a beautiful pier at about the midpoint spot that gives you a very nice view of the bay. Thru out the walk, there are beautiful views of both the sound and the park. Also, did I mention that there’s a golf course adjacent to the preserve? The park is clean with bathroom stops throughout the park, I don’t know if the bathrooms were clean or not, I didn’t have to use them this trip. There’s also what could be called a petting zoo on location, although all I saw were goats, it was a nice touch .

Great park for an easy walk up ramps and stairs to 360 degree view of long Island. Also has a pier to walk out over the water. Freshwater pond at top fed by a windmill. Lots of wildlife, recently viewed a hawk and woodpecker.

This is conveniently located and a wonderful use of space. It has something for everyone. Most trails are fairly easy to navigate with some change in slope and the addition of stairs. The scenic views at the top are a nice way to appreciate our region. At the end of the trail are goats and sheep. Along the trail, there is a bee station, birds, turtles, and ducks.

This preserve is like 3 independent areas merged together. The goats were roaming around the bar. Some of the bunnies look like they had ticks. A few birds were flying around with worms. The view from on top was quite nice with young duck roaming around the windmill and ponds.
While we crossed the sanitation yard, the smell was not present in the preserve. Overall, the preserve was moderately sized and can accommodate more people
