Shattuck Reservation is a scenic dog-friendly hiking destination located in Medfield, MA, offering pet owners a peaceful escape into nature with their furry friends. This reservation is known for its easy, well-marked 1.8-mile trail, which features varied terrain and beautiful foliage, making it a favorite for both leisurely walkers and adventure-seeking dogs. The park is well-maintained, though certain areas may become muddy after rain, so plan accordingly.
This dog park is unique because parts of the trail allow for off-leash dog walking, giving your dog a chance to roam more freely in nature. While generally quiet and less crowded, visitors should be aware that a nearby gun club can sometimes cause sudden noises. The park is also family-friendly, welcoming children to enjoy outdoor activities alongside their pets. For those interested in exploring more, the Noon Hill Reservation is conveniently located right across the street and offers more challenging hikes.
Just spent Sunday afternoon walking this 1.8 mile trail parts of which allow off leash dog walking. Did not see many people, but the nearby gun club was pretty loud and our dog got a little skittish in places. Overall nice varied terrain though and dry right now with awesome foilage!
Easy trail that is well marked with decent views. Directly across from sister reservation Noon Hill which is a little more rigorous and hilly. Shattuck can get muddy but we’ll maintained overall. Our dogs loved it.
