If you’re looking for a peaceful spot to enjoy the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan with your furry friend, Golden Township Park at Lake Michigan is a wonderful choice. This dog park in Mears, MI, is known for its serene beach vistas, breathtaking sunsets, and welcoming atmosphere for families and their pets. Located close to the iconic lighthouse and scenic sand dunes, it’s a popular destination for both locals and visitors year-round.
The park offers a relaxing environment, perfect for leisurely walks with your dog or simply soaking in the lake views. While it’s good for kids and features a wheelchair-accessible parking lot, please note that parking may require a fee and can get tight during busy times. Though there aren’t modern restroom facilities, the park’s natural beauty, cozy beach setting, and tranquil environment make it a memorable pet-friendly experience on Lake Michigan’s shores.
Not bad, fairly secluded but have to pay for the parking, and great view
Come every year. Would love to move here. Very relaxing. Plenty of things to experience
A nice, albeit small, beach on Lake Michigan. We watched a sunset and enjoyed how cozy it was. The parking is tight during busy times and there are no modern facilities. It was good for watching the sun set or rise.
The high wind the last couple of days has made Lake Michigan look even more beautiful. Angry, but beautiful. My pictures do not do the waves justice. From further back you could tell how high the waves were getting at certain points. I must not have been high enough from my spot. There was one point where the wind was so strong coming off the water it took my breath away. Hurricanes coming off the Gulf or Atlantic must be insane if 45/50 mph gusts can take your breath away. Beautiful park too by the way lol
Beautiful scenery & peaceful atmosphere. Got some great pictures of the lighthouse & sand dunes. It’s off-season, but I saw advertisements for dune rides. If I’m in the area next year gonna check them out!
