Baker Creek is very pretty, laidback family oriented state park located adjacent to Lake Strom Thurmond near McCormick SC. There’s a really nice Pavilion with incredible views of the lake that also includes the Park office. Awesome campground and bathrooms are very clean. Park appears to be well maintained. Hiking trails🥾 were closed due to Hurricane Helene. I enjoyed my visit.

Fun Fact:
Lake Strom Thurmond is (1200) miles of shoreline and (71,100) acres of water create an excellent experience for bank and boat anglers alike. Fish species include largemouth bass, bream, crappie, catfish, perch, striped bass, white bass, and hybrid bass.🎣

The only down side to the park is the roads are not maintained. Obviously hurricane Helene wreaked havoc and they’re still recovering. It’s quiet and mildly beautiful, just don’t expect alot of beachy areas on campsites.

Awesome sites. Most on the water had level sites. Was clean.. issues with the outdated bath house . Glass on the floor in showers. Extremely outdated. Was the worst bathhouse so far. But the water was hot as long as you need .Had some great views and a wonderful 4 days . Probably will be coming back. Next year

Amazing campground! Don’t listen to these complainers. We got the best view. The camp host was great!

This has got to be the most dilapidated State park I have ever visited. You cannot look in any direction without encountering wreck and ruin.
