My family went to the Mountain Dale Farm for 3 days. We stayed in the “Log House.” The Log House has HVAC and modern appliances for cooking. This house dates back to the year 1850 so keep in mind the bedrooms are not as spacious as houses today, however, was perfect for the experience. *Bring your own food and provisions. Houses have a typical refrigerator for storage* The decor and furniture was time appropriate also.

Every morning and evening we did farm chores which consisted of feeding The horses, pigs, chickens, and bunny rabbits. This farm probably would have other animals, depending upon the season and business decisions. There are also goats that you can feed. Make sure to ask about what animals are available to feed or pet.

There is a nice fishing pond on location that has bass and sun fish So bring your fishing gear. There is a mountain trail that takes you to an abandoned logging Road, which was what the mountain was once used for. We were allowed to tour the other properties on site and admire the historical lifestyle.

I saw a very large historic barn, which was repurposed for a function hall, perfect for weddings or meetings , maybe even a large family dinner. Near the log house was a game room type building that had a pool table, Ping-pong, a large sitting area, and extra showers with bathrooms.

Some of the houses you can stay in are animal friendly so you can bring your dog. Make sure you let them know you have an animal because they have a farm dog on location. The farm dog is used to people but keep in mind > It is a FARM DOG, so show respect to this hard working dog. If for some reason, you are scared of dogs or just want more privacy, notify the owner, and she will collect it.

I really enjoyed my experience here and have never done this before. I would recommend this to others but keep in mind. This is not a Hilton stay, this is an FARM experience stay. All of the houses are historic and you are on a Real working FARM. My cell phone did work in most areas, however, not 100% everywhere and there was no Wi-Fi in our house. I believe they do have Wi-Fi in the main house so make sure to inquire if this is something mandatory.

Once again, I highly recommend This location. Make sure you respect the animals in the area. I just wanna drive it home that this is a farm. This is not a commercial zoo, not a Hilton, not a beach resort. A truly unique experience on a farm.

Amazing set of fully-furnished cottages set in a serene farm away from the hustle bustle of city life. Sally is so kind and was such a joy to talk to. She showed us around, and we absolutely enjoyed being with her. We got to see pigs, rabbits, goats, sheep, cattle, horse, mule and so many other animals around. Highly recommend!

My family of three (including an animal- loving 8-year-old) stayed at one of the cabins for two nights and absolutely loved it! The farm is beautiful, nested at the foot of the mountain. Sally is a great host, always reachable whenever you need to reach her. For kids, it is a heaven. The farm has pigs and piglets, two mules, one very friendly German shepherd Trip, many cattle, many rabbits, many sheep and goats, chickens, peacock, and noisy geese and ducks(lol)! During our stay this past weekend, three baby lambs were born. My child was able to hold them minutes after they were born during the morning chore. Plus, you meet other great guests and their lovely children! Highly recommend this farm for family with kids who love animals. Be prepared to pack food for your stay as there are not many places nearby to dine or buy grocery. The cabin we stayed has a fully functioning kitchen.

It has been a wonderful experience staying in a working farm and it’s cosy and comfortable cabin. Our 4 year old loved doing the morning and evening chores, feeding the horse, chicken, geese, peacock, turkey, rabbits, sheeps and goats. Thanks Sally, Issac and their friendly Dog Trip for a memorable weekend.
