Dragonfly Dog Park & Nature Trails is a peaceful & wonderful place to leave your cell phones & hectic life behind to take a relaxed walk in the forest and around two ponds. The dog park is huge and shady, and it has separate areas for small dogs and dogs that are a little too rowdy for others. Membership is really reasonable (just NULL/month in 6 month increments), and it helps to guarantee participating dogs are vaccinated, flea-free and appropriate for a dog park. DDPNT is also 100% volunteer-run, and every time I’ve visited I’ve seen volunteers working to expand upon the number of wide, easy-to-walk trails that are smooth, ditched and wood-chipped. The goal is 2 miles of trails when they’re finished. Don’t have a dog? No problem! I’ve seen several dog-less people with field glasses just bird-watching and a group of ten older students enjoying a field trip.
I enjoy playing hide and seek in between all the pine trees with my pup! In addition to three dog parks, this spot has miles of scenic nature trails to walk with fido beside! Thank you to the decades of dedicated volunteers who left an imprint on this place. It sure is special.
We found our happy place! Dragonfly Dog Park and Nature Trails is no ordinary dog park. In addition to three fenced-in play areas, there’s miles worth of scenic woodsy trails to enjoy a stroll with fido by your side. Two ponds on site are perfect to observe turtles and ducks in their natural state. This location is an official turtle sanctuary – how cool! Across the pond you may see goats, guinea fowl, a few cats, and healthy thriving honeybees and more. Our time at Dragonfly wouldn’t be complete without a fun romp in the off leash area.
This beautifully maintained park and trail system is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit, cooperative park with decades of wonderful work for the community and beyond. We are happily paying members and even volunteer. The membership provides a peace of mind knowing that every dog is healthy and vaccinated here! Be sure to visit the website and start your application process beforehand. Once well behaved dogs and their humans are approved you receive access via an App on your phone – how cool!
Dragonfly Dog Park and Safe Harbor Farm, thank you for creating a haven from which to promote health and wellness for doggos and humans.
