Maynard Dog Park is a modestly sized dog park just under an acre in Maynard, MA, offering a single fenced area with plenty of shade from trees. It is suitable mainly for small to medium-sized dogs, with defined small dog hours but no separate small dog section. The park has mulch ground cover, bags and trash bins available, but lacks water fountains and a dedicated swimming area. It is a friendly community spot, though the park could benefit from upgrades like a better drainage system and a separate section for small dogs. There is parking nearby and the area allows for off-leash play in the combined single area.

I can’t in good faith leave a bad review because this does look like a nice park and there are so few of these types of amenities around.

So I’ll just leave a note for those visiting in the winter months. We arrived today, the park was empty despite many vehicle tracks and footprints in the snow. When we got to the entrance gate we noticed that both gates were sitting in several inches of ice and no amount of pushing or pulling was getting them open. The park was effectively closed.

It’s clear that the entrance area is a low spot where the water collects and doesn’t drain when it rains. When the puddles freeze with the gates sitting in them there is nothing to be done. Either the bottom of the gates need to be raised, the ground needs to be graded, or some drainage needs to be added to prevent this from happening in the future.

My dog and I had a great time socializing here! It’s a close spot to let his energy out. Especially helpful because I do not have a fenced in yard. The community does a good job keeping it clean and being respectful.

Great dog park and grateful for it being here. People are friendly. There is a lot of empty land next to it ..wish they made it bigger but it’s decent as sig parks go.

It’s ok, plenty of shade which is wonderful and there is a decent amount of space although it’s still on the smaller end so probably more suitable for small or medium size dogs. Where I have an issue is that there are old dog toys strewn across the place which leaves me wary because you can’t be certain that every dog you encounter is ok with sharing toys.

Decent park. Good size just under an acre. Was recently given a fresh layer of mulch. Nicely shaded by trees for a good chunk of the location.

Bags and trash present, but no water. Single section of park, they have defined “small dog hours”, but no separate section.

This was one of the original parks to open outside of Boston – but the design is showing it’s age and it needs some updates like a small dog only section and some sort of water.
