If you’re looking for a welcoming dog park in Mariposa, California, the SPCA of Mariposa County offers a community-focused environment for both you and your pups. Located off CA-49, this facility is beloved by locals not only as an animal rescue and adoption center but also as a hub for pet-friendly activities and events. Reviews highlight the commitment of the staff to animal welfare, especially during challenging times like wildfires, making it a trustworthy spot for dog owners in the region.
Though it is best known for its work in animal rescue, the SPCA regularly hosts yard sales and thrift events, with proceeds benefiting local animals. While there’s limited mention of specific dog park amenities such as off-leash areas or water stations, the facility is recognized as a safe space for adopting and supporting local pets. It’s a pet-friendly destination worth checking out, especially if you’re searching for services or community-driven events for dog lovers in Mariposa County.
Awesome place to come and get second hand items. Last time I was there I picked up a blow up mattress with built-in pump a two weed wacker that are almost brand new, one also included a pole saw, as well as nice ratchet set a couple pieces of art and books all for ?. They like to bundle things up and give you a flat price for everything you have which is really convenient.
Fantastic place to visit. I love their thrift store. The lady who runs it is as nice as can be and offers fair to bargain prices. Most definitely a good place to shop. I heard you can volunteer there regularly (not during covid-19) to get prices knocked down to get services for your animals. Last but not least they got a twenty dollar cart day where ya can fill up a cart full of goodies and only pay twenty bucks for it! Too cool!
Almost ni animals on premises and they will not honor commitment to county to place strays. Big problems that they will not disclose finances after receiving & selling property donated. If you cannot show your books or general information, it doesn’t smell right. Not only have you turned away dogs needing placement, vouchers for spay & neuter are none existent. Clean up your act.

Went to this thrift store recently. We were treated extremely rude by who I assume was the manager. Other workers have been nice before but this woman was just mean about answering our questions. Extremely disrespectful. Do you want people to shop at your place or notNULL
We have adopted 3 rescue dogs from this SPCA over time! The dogs all were well taken care of and fit into our family perfectly! The ladies there go above and out of their way when the community has been evacuated for fires. They are always there and ready to take as many evacuated pets as they care! We’ve enjoyed their yard sale! We love that the monies go to help take care of the animals!
