Schoonover Dog Park is a popular dog-friendly destination located in Marina, California, known for its welcoming community and fun amenities for pups of all sizes. This fenced dog park features separate areas for small and large dogs, easy-to-use gates, a small play structure, and an obstacle course that keeps your four-legged friends entertained and active. The sandy surface is a unique feature that dogs love, and the addition of water spigots ensures pups stay hydrated during play sessions.
Conveniently situated with its own small, dedicated parking lot, the park offers benches and shaded seating areas for owners, along with water bowls and poop bags for added convenience. Schoonover Dog Park’s friendly atmosphere, social opportunities, and thoughtful amenities make it one of the top choices for dog owners throughout the Salinas region and Monterey County looking for a safe and engaging place to let their dogs play off-leash.
Every dog I’ve seen plying there seemed to be having the time of their lives. Plenty of benches. Small play structures. There’s water and poop bags available. My kid loved it and he’s of the two legged variety. I saw elsewhere that someone posted a review saying it is only for CSUMB locals. Uh, there’s no guard on duty, sign in sheet, or electronic key. The other dogs won’t turn you in.

I’ve been taking my dogs to this dog park for over 20 years now. It’s a great place to have fun with other dogs and socialize with their owners.

My first and last experience at this dog park. After 30 minutes there I had to pick 24 stickers off her.
Against my better judgment, I did go back because a friend wanted to check it out. This time we found this sign on the fence, CSUMB residence only. We Live 10 miles away and are Monterey County residence, but not CSUMB residence. I called the number and was told no entrance residence only.
